Doing abit of browsing and came across your site..
What caught my eye was the movie "The Man Who Fell to Earth", most of your playlist and the fact that you paint...
first of all - i loved your comments. you're hilarious. second - the background is by an artist named kiki smith, and she is absolutely amazing. that particular piece is called "how i know i'm here." it's actually presented as four separate panels placed horizontally.
i was lucky enough to live near the whitney museum in new york last year and kiki smith had an exhibit there for awhile. i absolutely fell in love with her work - and literally went back four other times just to see her stuff again.
and the smiths. oh, the smiths. that song is heartbreaking. that one and "hand in glove" just kill me. honestly, though - you must be made of strong stuff to listen to it while depressed. i don't know if i'd come out of that situation completely in tact...let alone be able to repeat it daily. who knows, though - maybe i would. we're probably both (all?) a bit masochistic.
stephen colbert...how i love that man. side effects is great, but running with scissors will always have a special place in my heart. DON'T see the movie if you haven't already. it ruins all the fun.
and velvet goldmine is one of my favorite movies of all time. i spoke to jonathan rhys meyers on the phone before he became, well - whatever it is he is now. it was surreal.
