Hi there...how are you? Thanks for your message. This is the first time I'm logging on since August, so I'm trying to catch up on all my messages. Take care!
I did care for her a lot...It's funny too 'cause before that lab I had never had any contact with rats and my lab instructor had warned us that we would get very attached to them...I just thought, whatever, it's just a rat...Then I met her, and got to know her, and fell in love lol. She developed a tumor when she was 2.5...it was really hard to see her suffer through it, she was having seizures and such...By the last few days she couldn't really move at all so we just filled her cage with popcorn (her favorite food) so she always had food nearby and fed her water every hour...It was tough but she was great while she was here. Now I get paranoid when my ratties seem off in the slightest lol...Luckily there's a vet that deals with rats just a few minutes away from my place :P.
Wow, 11! That's amazing lol. I would love to fill my apartment with ratties but my boyfriend would rather a couple at a time...We had one before these two, she was my lab rat from university that I adopted, and we fell in love from there. After she passed away we couldn't wait long before getting more. That's the only bad thing about them though, they have such short life spans for animals that become family :(.
They are pretty amazing...It's like having little dogs in rat bodies lol...When we come home, they jump on top of their cage to greet us and give us kisses, and they have very distinct personalities. I take care of my friend's gerbil quite often and I wonder why anyone would pick gerbils or hamsters over rats...the difference in personality is amazing lol. Do you have any yourself?
