Wow, I didn't think I'd come across anyone on here who not only was familiar with The Exterminating Angel, but listed it among their personal favorites. I'm a huge fan of surrealism and there aren't many who do it as well as Bunuel.

Wow that sounds interesting and relaxing..I'm not too religious though but I can imagine how a compassionate environment like that could help a person feel better and stronger..what kinds of things went on there?

I'm a vegan because the thought of eating animal products seems inpure to me.
It also helps with my eating disorder.
I think my cat hates me.

Hey Chris!
It was my brother's wedding. It went well :)
Wow that sounds so cool. It must have been very tranquil..those 4 days. I hope they do let him make that documentary; that would be cool! :)

I use prisma colored pencils(the best), acrylic paints, sometimes water color or collages. I am teaching myself painting til I go to school for it next semester. I paint abstract and some realife and when I draw its mostly real life I put up a picture of 2 paintings I am working on on my page.
Taking a yoga class with an instructor is so much better. They can guide you through things that you may not be aware of and help you with poses you get personal instruction. I have been practicing yoga for 4 years and teaching for the past 2.

Hey Chris; sorry for the very late reply..I lost track of the comments..and to be honest I've been really stressed lately because of the wedding this sunday. In 2 hours is the wedding recital :P.
That was a very interesting video by Alan Watts. I had heard his name before but had not really watched any videos with him.

Did you go to New Orleans? How was it? The Buddhist retreat is at the end of august?

Hey Chris...I can't reply to your message now because I'm super stressed and busy with moving into another room since we have relatives coming. When I get the chance I'll carefully read what you wrote and take my time writing a good response. If I dont catch you until thursday...have an awesome trip in New Orleans! You better have a lot of fun

Hey thanks for the friend request :)

To be honest Chris...having met that person from SAF hasnt changed my SA at all. It has changed me though and how I view people with SA, but not my SA. I think if you want to change your SA you need to change yourself. I think if I meet 3 or 4 or 10 more people from this site and talk to them...at the end of the day I'll still have the same beliefs or habits of SA...but if I change myself and my thoughts....that's when I'll change SA....that's just what I'm thinking right now, so I dont know if it's really true. I mean probably meeting some people will help your SA because you learn things from them that may help you.
So far I havent heard on insulting thing from you. Sometimes my jokes can be insulting to some people and I have to be careful because not everyone has my sense of humour. I think I've missed making a few good friends because I joked too much with them and they thought I was rude. But this is the process of learning. On the other hand if you don't joke with some people and just be kind all the time you can be viewed as a bore. I really would like to grow into a person who can adapt to each person and sort of treat each person in a unique way...not just have one personality for everyone...although if it's a balanced personality it might just work :P

Wow free! I imagine you have to reserve your seating soon..since he's so popular and well-known!
How is your weekend so far Chris? :)

Hey Chris, thx a bunch for the info and the website. I'll be getting $5400 for this summer's work which is pretty good. The job does take my time...but I also realize that it's a good learning experience for me. :)
How much do you have to pay to go see Thick Naht Han? I really like the fact that there are some long videos of him on youtube.
Do keep me updated on that retreat you plan on attending!

One of the many advantages of technology (in this case the computer, and this website for that matter) is you have access to millions of people more than you do outside your door. Which means you have a better chance of finding people you like and people that like you. Even if the person lives in your community you may never bump into him or her...I met a friend on SAF that lives where I live and I met with him...and now I meet with him regularly. It just depends how you use the site I guess. If you just use it to pass the time then yes it is a waste of time...but if you actually try hard to meet up with people and sort of use it for practicing talking with people in different ways (changing yourself)...well then you can get somewhere.
