I really hope to get to see it someday. My hubby has a picture taken there. He and his mate drove across the bridge.Hope you are having a good week. I am feeling quite anxious as I have to meet a lady tomorrow about organizing an allotment campaign group. Fingers crossed it goes ok.
Sound like you had a fun time. I've been to the States twice but not to the West coast. Shortly after I started going out with my hubby he went on a road trip with his friend to California and visited San Francisco. I was invited but didn't have a job at that time and SA wasn't good so gave it a skip. Was always sorry I didn't go I have visited Boston, NewYork and New Hampshire. Would like to see some other parts though. H I'm starting to nod. Got very little sleep last night so will turn in now. Hope to chat to you again. Hugs Skylark
Was it your first time in the US ? I hope you all had a good time. Perhaps you can post a short blog on the travel forum Summer is going on good. I'm back on my anxiety chill pills which have made a big difference to my anxiety and SA over the last week. they have taken a while to work. I'm feeling much more confident and less self conscious then I usually do. I spent the day in Dun Laoire in Dublin as my Aunt and Uncle were getting the ferry back to England. As we had afew hours to spare we walked the pier and watched the sailing boats and also feasted on ice cream they were in Ireland for 3 weeks and we also toured parts of the West coast with them during my Summer hols. Overall the Summer is going good apart from the weather!
Hi Henrietta! I watched the Eurovision last night as tradition dictates :-) Very disappointing! I was actually hoping that Greece would win but Russia had the advantage with the political voting. the sooner we go back to a jury system the better. The UK did not deserve to come near the end. I wonder is it time to a have a breakaway contest. The amount of votes that I was able to predict including Irelands due to the amount of Poles amd Lativans now living here. ( No disrespect to those nationalities). I just think when you live away from home it is the natural thing to do cast a vote for your own country :-0 the voting was much more exciting years ago. Yeah I'm a Man Utd fan. I was actually born there so I have always followed them even when they went through the lean times in the 80's. Actually I wrote to Fergie in the late 80's when he was threatened with being sacked. I still have the letter :-)
I'm gutted slightly. It's no fun watching it when you are not taking part. It's like been all dressed up for the ball and now been told we are not going.
The thing is this puppet is actually a very well known childrens tv star over here and has also done alot of charity singles with other well known and slightly more talented Irish artists :-))
It was poking fun alright but I think it really was only a joke Irish people got. I used to love the Eurovision but the Eastern block countries are really dominating and some really good songs are not getting much votes. I must check out some of the songs now before sat nite. I will stock up on some pizza and cry into my Guinness :-(
Looks like you won't be voting for Ireland. We failed to qualify from the semi-finals. I really thougt it would go through as a novelty act. There had been two schools of thought on the entry 1) one it's a complete embarrassment and 2) it would just show up the contest for what it has become. I'm afraid no decent Irish singer/songwriters will touch the contest any more. It is just seen as a load of drivel now.The big problem was we dumbed down our national contest by copying the format of Pop Idol about 5 years ago. WE will never win it again :-( I do like Russias song and the UK's but not sure if the UK's song will win.
