Classic soul, standards, '50s through '80s rock and pop, some classic country, instrumentals -- basically anything that doesn't get much airplay these days! Thank God for my CD collection and satellite radio. And there's always amazing clips that keep popping up on YouTube from people who had the foresight to tape "Soul Train" or "Solid Gold."

Primarily nonfiction... I'm especially interested in local Pacific Northwest history, television and radio history, journalism, roadside and commercial architecture, natural disasters, things that tie in with current events... and those are what come to the top of my mind. Needless to say, I have many books on my shelves but never enough time to read them.

I think personality is what counts the most -- wit, compassion, humor, playfulness, loyalty, and determination are all a plus in my book. Being well-read and in touch with current events without being totally rabid about politics is also impressive.

Narcissism and blind ambition, excessive materialism, insincerity.

I'm socially anxious (probably even avoidant at times) with periods of GAD and OCD thrown in there for good measure. As a teenager, I had panic disorder, but that has since passed. I hope to talk to other people who have gone through similar circumstances... feel free to drop me a line!

I'm in a period of transition, I guess you could say... after working in libraries for a few years, I've decided I want to embark on a new direction in life and have left my master's degree program. Needless to say, I'm a bit scared of having to start from scratch in finding a career to pursue! If you have any good ideas (I guess I tend to lean toward office work that's detail-oriented with routine and stability), feel free to share them with me!
