ABOUT ME
I am 37 year old male living alone in a nice suburb of Detroit. I have lived here in Michigan my whole life. I work in the auto industry as an engineer for one of the Big 3. I have a great job and get to drive all the new cars coming out to 2011 MY.

I have always been shy, but made some progress over the years. I do OK in work environments, but have a lot of difficulty in social situations. I had some health problems which caused me to lose confidence. Lately, I try to avoid all social events. Unfortunately, I am way too good at avoiding social things and spend most of my time alone. Take care.

Yes, I like to except everyone :) because I would want them to add me as there friend!. I took piano lessons when I was ten.......I had to stop when I was twelve almost thirteen.  My parents divorced and we all went through a really hard time......it was much more than just the divorce..I developed social phobia and some other problems. My family  all had serious issues as well.....so I don't think anything else could ever top that......hopefully not.

for now i decided not to go to a therapist but like you said maybe the self help groups would help me. the one i found was in a hospital for mentally ill and i kinda did not wanna go there since i'm trying to appear normal lol... well maybe i will look for other places but i don't necessarily only wanna talk about my anxiety, i think i wanna do exposure therapy with someone who has SA aswell and someone who would be a friend at the same time, but it's not easy to find. hope all is well with u
