eh, I just wanted to go do something else irl, and the whole goeb thing trying to wind up everyone was getting old. So I was like, feh, why not just leave?
hehe i read through them and decide if i like them, then i go home and look them up for a cheaper price on Amazon :p Not always, sometimes i just want it then and there. I love their whole store, i could peruse for hours, but they need more comfy chairs or some kind of buzzer to let you know when your times up. Maybe something that massages the bum that way we both get something out of it. :p yeah, but they're really short on chairs. We only have two in ours.
yeah, amazon is usually cheaper then the cover price. But like you I sometimes want the book right then and there even if I don't read it right away (which makes no sense). I've spent hours in the bookstore just going from aisle to aisle. there was a really great bookstore back home where I grew up. It was small but divided up into several different rooms. It had wood floors and a victorian style setting. They even had free coffee. Man I miss that place. :o)
That place sounds awesome. I love old houses converted into stores. I love old anything converted into anything... like this palace in boston that was turned into a boardingschool. Old creaky wooden floors and victorian styles are the best, but free coffee? That sounds so relaxing. My old library was really small, but converted from an old house and i would constantly go there as a teen.
It was a great bookstore. Free coffee sounds like such a foreign concept now. The coffee was right in front of a fireplace which had a view through a picture window. I like the sound of that old library you mentioned. That would be nice. I like victorian style and wood floors too. I used to go to a dentist that worked out of a former house converted into an office. Certainly gave it a more comfortable feel :o)
I just had to comment on that background and your music. Gorgeous classical, especially the winter song. Your background evoked so many feelings out of me. It symbolizes a lot. I may not see what was meant, but to me it shows a girl at the end of her rope, possibly due to ridicule from another. I see her exploding from all the rage kept inside her. No longer the innocent, timid angel and delicate ballerina she once was.
Also, I have the same question, did you create that background yourself? Regardless, it's still an awesome pick. :)
Hi there. Well I think you have a good interpretation of my profile image :). I didn't draw it, so I don't know exactly what the artist was going for though... Speaking of nice backgrounds, yours is so beautiful :D. I like the color of the leaves.
I didn't do much, it was pretty uneventful as far as going out. The bell jar i'm enjoying, but it's taking me a while to get through it. I'm not being dedicated to my books lately. Major ADD attacks b/c there's a lot on my mind :p but i love what i have read so far. Her metaphors are really a lot like something i would say. lol I see myself in her the more i read.
Hope you are well. :)
As a youngster, the best part was designing a costume..pretending to be someone or something else for a day..was my favorite holiday...
A persons will is the most powerful weapon one has from what I've learned with SAD, agoraphobia and everyday hurdles that I've overcome..perhaps it doesn't apply with ADD..I can't say for sure but from what I understand of it, I believe a strong will would be beneficial..it makes sense with everything else...
Her analytical writing style along with her almost humorous (at times) analogies are definitely what sets her apart..having the same metaphorical outlook makes for an interesting person and I can almost picture what you must be like based on your comparison..(that was an intended compliment)... ;-)
As for how I'm doing, I could just say "just fine" and that would be that but I'm beginning to understand that with this site, most people want honesty which is a wonderful thing..the people I've met so far are very well meaning and truly empathetic..this works well with my personality, for sometimes, I'm told, I can be too compassionate and too honest..I personally believe that there is no such thing..If you've read my profile, you're aware of my back and neck injuries, severe osteoporosis, etc. .. I've had a stabbing pain at the mid spine area and the muscles on either side of my lower spine have been getting worse lately..I'm sure it's because of a lack of exercise, so the couch has been where I've been spending most of my time..quite the conundrum..As for the SAD and agoraphobia, by not going anywhere, I've no reason to be bothered..Other than that, I'm just fine..heh...
Please let me know how the book is coming along and if I may, I'd like to suggest an author whom you'll truly appreciate, based on your interests and reading material..His name is Herman Hesse..his writing style is such that I've identified myself with all of his main characters..in fact my nickname was given to me in the 10th grade by acquaintances of mine..the book is called Steppenwolf and I've read it at least 10 times now..the interesting thing is that I see the story differently each time, depending on my age and where I was within myself at the time of reading..I recommend beginning with his novel "Siddhartha"..All his novels have one commonality - the main character is on an inward journey as the story plays out..with most of his works, however this can sometimes be overlooked until the second read..If you're anything like me, over a period of a few years, decades even, the great books can be read at least two or three times...
How have you been doing ? Are you taking anything for your ADD ? Please feel free to talk about anything or ask me anything you'd like..I'm interested in all things except discussions on the weather..heh..
Hope you're doing well and take good care of yourself...

Day's going ok - it started off a bit crappy but has gotten better. I feel tired as usual. Bleh! I need a vacation!! Somewhere freezing cold like the North Pole. Yeah I'd do that, you know - get to 'chill out'
Well Jacksonville is quite the crime ridden area, in fact criminals probably come here b/c it's so notorious for it. The cops are corrupt too. Jax is Jax...I don't plan on settling down in this podunk town. I'm doing what i can to get out in a few years. Circumstances brought me here about 2 years ago.
Oh, my body can't even handle antidepressants. I went on them when i was a teen and coudl barely stand them then, but now it's impossible, really.
Where did you live before you moved to Jacksonville?
I'm probably moving to a nearby city within the next few months, and might go on anti-depressants only if I can't handle the anxiety I experience (if I experience any). I've been living in a small town for the past few years, so I haven't really been around large groups of people for a long time. I seriously think that I'd function fine around people these days since I'm aware of what my 'problem' is (being aspergers). Me being oblivious to what I had was a major cause for the anxiety I was experiencing.
When did you realize that you had social anxiety, and when did you start really feeling the symptoms?
Anti-depressants really f*ck me up and make me feel zombie-like, so I don't take them anymore.
Anyways.... How do you like Jacksonville?
Whenever I hear of Jacksonville, I think of the show 'Cops'. I used to watch that show all the time when I was younger. Lots of that show was taped in Jacksonville. You have lots of crazy-ass criminals there it would seem.
