Great pictures of your doves. This is day 2 and Mum is sitting on the nest. dad is still working on the nest bringing back twigs. It's fun watching the whole thing so close to my window
Wow, your sister didn't have a very good experience at the aquarium. Most of the people that work at the Humane Society seem very sweet and thoughtful. I would like to do more, just about anyone is willing to coddle animals but there's a lot more work involved besides that. Anyway, I've hardly done anything the past week, been sick, just resting a lot and trying to get better.
I haven't had the same experience as you regarding opinions of people on medications. Perhaps it's the different cultures? Granted, I don't outright talk to many people about being on medication, however, it seems nowadays in the U.S. that most people are taking something so I don't feel like an outcast because of it. It's ashame if people let their opinions be affected by something like that.
Were there other instruments you tried to learn? I tried to enroll in some drum lessons too, lol. Probably will do again, hehe, once I find a job and already able to support myself. Have you finished your college yet? I've just graduated last March, finally! after how many years in college, lol
Wow, 10 books at the same time? I'm trying to read some books now, coz I don't really read books then eventhough I'm supposed to, lol. Was able to finish one book which is like a miracle coz I don't usually get to finish anything I think I've heard of Bhagavad Gita before in one of my Lit classes. I'll try to research here on the internet more about the books you've suggested. And look for it on bookstores if something interests me. : ) I'd really like to check the Thomas Richards book. I will be sending you my email add.
How'd your day went? I had to go out of the house today to get something, and because my brother and his groupmates are in our house. I wouldn't know again how to act infront of them, and noisy people sometimes scare me, especially if they're strangers, lol. You take care : )
Cool, you have a twin brother! I bought an acoustic guitar too after saving some money. Haha, had to give up too coz haven't learned to play even just one song. Now, it's just my brother who's trying to play it, and some friends if they come over our house. It's nice listening to people play the guitar.
I know what what you mean. There are some songs too that I press skip if it's played, coz it's just too heavy for me now, lol. No need for such negative songs anymore : )
What books are you reading? Any suggestions on stuff I can find on the internet for overcoming SA?
Someone being on medication isn't a big deal to me, but I've been on a lot myself, so maybe I have a different point of view than most. Anyway, I don't think it's something you necessarily need to mention to her. Plus if she judges you on it then she's a doody head, so says me. :P
You had night sweats? I find that kind of interesting because I've had severe night sweats in the past. At some point they went away, I'm guessing they were a side effect from something I was on. I've also had thyroid issues too, so it's hard to pin down what the problem actually was. They are miserable.
Working at an animal shelter is actually a good idea. I've considered applying for a job at the one I volunteer at, of course I'd probably be cleaning up crap and piss instead of coddling the animals, lol.
All right, I need to get ready for a fair, I'm going with a few of my cousins. Take care Alan. :)
Hey Spirit, sorry to hear the Lexapro isn't giving you the results you'd hoped for, but I do think you should try to give it at least a month to do it's thing unless you're already noticing serious side effects. They're sure to go away once you stop, so it's nothing permanent. :)
Your situation with the girl does sound a bit complicated. I tend to agree that if a couple has lived together for seven years and still aren't planning on marriage that it's probably never going to head in that direction. She'll figure out what she wants, just be a good friend in the meantime.
I'd like to have a job, I've heard from others it can be a good way to meet people as well. Right now my social interaction only involves family and some strangers if I go to a restaurant or shopping. I'd love to have a few close friends that I could just hang out with. I'll get there at some point.
Hi there, thanks for replying to my comments, i listened to Bamboo on your playlist, they sound very good, nice rock sound, i didn't have too much joy with Wolfgang, the system was playing up but i'll try another time. Do you play in a band? I love live music, we also have some good bands in South Africa, sometimes its best to listen to the local stuff and its always a lot cheeper. Seether is a SA band, they went to USA about 3 or 4 years ago but came back to Durban 2 weeks ago, it was an awesome concert. Sometimes its difficult for local bands to make it overseas, we have some great bands but they aren't really known outside of the country. Thanks for looking at my pics, the doves have left a few weeks ago but they come back every day fo be fed, so i just have to keep remembering to fill up their seed dish. Have a nice day.
Hello! Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't able to reply the last time I logged in.
Cool! You like Bamboo's sound. Sorry though for Wolfgang, I don't know why playlist does not have the songs anymore. Not one song is left when I checked earlier..
Lol, I wish I know how to play an instrument. Then, maybe I could be in a band, haha! I don't get to listen much to new bands nowadays coz I seldom listen to the radio. I'm pretty much stuck in the 90's and early 2000 (?),lol. I love going to concerts too, I'd like to go to bars and listen to local bands but my SAD gets in the way. If I don't have it, I think I can go alone, unlike most people I know who need company when going out.
Thanks, I didn't know they're from South Africa. It's great that they're representing SA really well.
Except for "Broken" which was really huge here, I didn't think I've heard other Seether songs. Coz radio stations here where I live play mostly popular music. Checked them on playlist and I remembered "Remedy". Heard it when we still had a rock radio station here. I'll be downloading some of their songs : ). I like "Gasoline", but just a li'l not wholesome, lol. Still like it, esp. the intro.
I've been on Lexapro before, I didn't notice a heck of a lot of difference, but I wasn't really pushing myself to do things while I was on it, so it's hard to tell how much it was really working. It can take a month or two to really notice any effect from some SSRIs.
So you've met a lady you're fond of, eh? Does she live near you? I'd love to have some girls locally that I was fond off, hell, I'd love to have some guy friends to hang out with as well.
I could never eat an animal I've raised as a pet. If my Uncle decides to raise chickens and cows for food I won't be involved.
Hey Spirit, how was your weekend? I was busy celebrating a bunch of birthdays. My mom turned 60, my Uncle 58, and my cousin 18. It's been nice to stay somewhat active even after coming home from the vacation. Staying around people and keeping busy keeps me from thinking too much. :)
On the subject of birds, I went with my Uncle to buy some Cheeps yesterday (baby chickens). Turns out the store we visited doesn't sell live animals, so my Uncle's planning on picking them up somewhere today and then letting my cousins build them a place to live (it'd make sense to have that sorted before buying them, but my Uncle refuses to hear it). He has this idea of rebuilding the family farm into a working farm. I appreciate his desire, but I don't see it happening. Anyway, that's what's up with me. I hope you're doing well. :)
Hi, thanks for replying to my comment. What i was referring to is "the course in miracles", i've been reading it and doing the lessons for the last year and a half but sometimes i worry a bit about the whole concept of owning my own space and standing up for myself. I think this is a key factor in my anxiety in that i am a people pleaser and have not really stood up for myself much in my life. I don't know if what i'm saying makes any sense but it is real to me.
Well it looks like you have the half of it done(the awareness of it). That is a fantastic book. I am looking for a book group in my area.In my opinion A lot of people take the people pleaser role because that is how we were taught from family or society or religion. Some take it so far they lose themselves in the process, why do people become like that, is there something within themselves they are avoiding or are afraid to look at?avoiding the self is like trying to avoid seeing your self in a room of mirrrors. What is revealed or spoken of that was in the dark loses its power. But there is a difference btween peaple pleasing and serving others where there is a balance between healthy sefishness and helping people.
Hi there, you have some great words on your site, how long have you been into spirituality? I have dozens of similar books and cds. Do you find any clash between spiritual teachings and self help stuff?
I've pretty much been spiritual my whole life being introverted kind of does that. Clash between spiritual teachings and self help? What do you mean please elaborate. Are their particular books or people you are talking about?
Hi there, glad you enjoyed your holiday, its great to leave all your issues behind and just be like a kid.
Ain't that the truth! It makes me kind of sad I'm an adult now, and wasted quite a bit of my formative years being afraid of people. Now I'm supposed to be an adult and I have no idea how to be one.
So apparently Doves aren't the smartest birds in the world. We have humming birds coming back around now, they were around in the early summer but disappeared for a bit. They're fun to watch. The sparrows haven't been as feisty this summer as I'm used to, or maybe I just haven't been around enough to watch them.
Hey Spirit! My vacation was excellent. I was very active the entire time, and I have the soreness and bruises to show for it. Now I'm a bit down I'll be going back to the same routine of sitting on my butt. I need to find activities to do at home.
Do the parent doves continue to stay at your windowsill?
