foreign and independent. and james bond movies

i don't watch much on tv except for sports (red sox and steelers). and the occasional telenovela

i like some 'indie' stuff, classical, opera, bluegrass, gospel, old blues, old country.

the obligatory list of a few random favorites : galaxie 500, the raincoats, low, my bloody valentine, palace/will oldham/etc, the magnetic fields, guided by voices, chopin, shostakovich, prokofiev, puccini, mahalia jackson, patsy cline, doc watson, tom waits

and my brand new work in progress playlist :

a few favorite authors are virginia woolf, james joyce, dostoevsky, vladimir nabokov, milan kundera, marcel proust, kafka, saul bellow

and most russian literature, especially 20th century

Readers , Letter Writing , New Englanders , Lip biters!

hello all. i used to be on the sas site a few years ago; i seem to gravitate back here every few years. i've had social anxiety as long as i can remember although it worsened significantly 7 years ago. i also struggle with depression and an eating disorder.

other things i am: restless, impulsive, capricious, quirky, oddly secretive

i'm moving to the boston area in may and would especially love to meet anyone nearby. online correspondence is lovely too if you're not in the area.

compassion, intelligence, openness, passion for something, escapism, grammar, barrettes, spices, the ocean, color, aesthetics, windows, precipitation

indifference, insensitivity, pretension, exclamation points

i spend a lot of time either reading or staring out windows listening to music. foreign languages are my academic passion. i play the piano. i am fascinated by letters and mail; i write them to people i know and people i don't. i send some and others fill up boxes in my room. i love parking lots and will sit there in my car under streetlights at night for hours sometimes. i am slightly obsessed with umbrellas; i collect them. i love thrift stores and yard sales and other people's old unwanted things.

Hi Ingrid I hope you are doing well today. It's a windy, rainy day outside so I am hiding out inside. Who is your favourite James Bond? :)

What happened to your playlist?

EDIT: Nevermind, there it is.

it takes a bold woman to post cactus as the one pixies song on her playlist. i like your style.

and i've yet to find a more beautiful writer than nabokov, or a more heartbreaking work than shostakovich's string quartet no. 8. Amazing that both artists have made your profile. (I can't help but agree with many of your favorite choices, wholeheartedly.)

i go to school about an hour and a half outside boston. it's an amazing place to be...

p.s. i just noticed "low" on you playlist. i have to say that listening to laserbeam while driving at night on an empty street is one of my most favorite things.

Glad I could help, I'm addicted to project playlist too. It's almost as good as the SAF site.
