Site Guidelines

Preamble
The purpose of this board is to provide a place for people with social anxiety disorder to communicate with each other. Many of us have a difficult time sharing our feelings and experiences. It is extremely important that we create a comfortable environment for each other. This forum has a number of dedicated board moderators who try to promote this type of environment. They may edit or delete posts that are threatening, abusive or in any way harmful to group members. We are not qualified to deal with serious problems such as discussion of suicide. These posts may also be locked or deleted. Please contact a professional in your area to get help with these types of issues. The goal is to have fun, make new friends, learn more about this disorder and get motivated to take the steps necessary to overcome it.

Legal Issues
You agree to not use the Service to: 1. Violate or solicit the violation of any applicable local, state, national or international law 2. Infringe the rights of any third party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights and privacy or publicity rights. 3. Upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any Content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, tortuous, defamatory, obscene, libelous, or invasive of another's privacy; consists of instructional information on illegal activities, including, but not limited to, hacking, cracking, and phreaking; violates or infringes in any way upon the proprietary rights of others, including, without limitation, copyrighted software, music, photographs, text, videos or artwork; constitutes pornography, or sexual material of an obscene nature or that violates local, state or national laws; is the private information of another such as their addresses, phone number, Social Security number or credit card number; contains software viruses, Trojan horses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment; or you do not have a right to upload or post due to contractual or other legal obligation. 4. Impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, a board official, forum leader, guide or host, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity. 5. Forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any Content transmitted through the Service. 6. Interfere with or disrupt the Service, computer servers or boards accessible through the Service.

Spamming
Do not disseminate off-topic messages on boards or other parts of the site promoting any product, service, web site, board or venture, or promote boards or sites on the Service through unsolicited electronic mail messages to third parties.

Personal Attacks
Personal attacks on any member of this community will not be tolerated. Any post, which is judged by the moderators to be defamatory, degrading, threatening, humiliating, insulting or hurtful in any way to another member of the community, will be edited or deleted at the moderators' discretion.

Intolerance
Any post which is deemed by the moderators to contain racial, sexual, religious, or any other kind of bigotry, bias, intolerance or hatred will be locked, edited or removed.

Bad Language
Freedom of expression is encouraged, however the use of terms and language that are broadly acknowledged to be offensive will not be permitted. Posts containing such language will be locked, edited or deleted at the discretion of the moderators.

Obtaining Medication Online
Posts that discuss obtaining medication online legally or otherwise are not allowed and will be locked, edited or removed.

Posting Images
The posting of images containing graphic violence, pornography, or otherwise offensive or distressing material is not permitted. The posting of links to such images is not permitted.

Suicide
Suicide threats or the discussion of suicide are not permitted. This is not the place for it and we are not in a position to help. Please contact someone who is. It may seem harsh but there will be NO execptions.

Conflicts
If you have any issue or problem with material posted in this forum, or with the behavior of another community member, please email or PM the moderators or the administrator for a confidential discussion of the issue. Please try to settle it first without involving the staff.

Agenda Pushing
Agenda pushers will not be made welcome. If the staff feels that your posts are inappropriately pushy, repetitive or fanatical, they will be locked, edited or removed and you will be asked to refrain from further posting on the subject.

Who has Social Anxiety
This site is not a competition - it's not about whose particular brand of SA is the worse, who suffers more than whom, or who has the right to call their problems Social Anxiety. The belittlement of others' suffering will not be tolerated.

Social Anxiety Support Staff

Criticism
The actions and decisions of the staff are not open for debate or criticism. Any post that questions or criticizes the staffs decisions will be locked, edited or deleted. Private messages or emails that question or criticizes the decisions of any member of the Social Anxiety Support staff or are in any way abusive are not permitted.

About the Staff
The staff of Social Anxiety Support is made up entirely of volunteers who give their time and energy to make this a safe and comfortable environment for everybody. They deserve our respect and gratitude.

Consequences

Violations
Any member who willfully or repeatedly violates any portion of these guidelines is subject to being banned from this site at the discretion of any staff member.

We reserve the right to lock, edit or remove any posts or other content for any reason whatsoever without explanation or appeal. Do NOT ask why.

Acceptance of These Guidelines
If you are not comfortable with these guidelines or do not think you'll be able to abide by them, please refrain from posting in these forums or visiting this site.
