I like designing, collecting, writing (poetry mostly), birdwatching, and various types of crafts when the mood hits me.

Horror, documentaries, romantic comedies, sci-fi, action/adventure, musicals, etc. I watch just about anything.

A few favorites: Alien vs. Predator (any of them), The Matrix, Resurrection (the older version), Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Moonstuck, The Family Man, As Good As It Gets, Somethings Gotta Give, Baby Boom, Twister, War of the Worlds (new version), Pitch Black/Chronicles of Riddick, Gone in Sixty Seconds, The Fast & the Furious, Cloverfield, the Alien Movies, Creature from Black Lake (yeah, try to find that one, lol), any holiday movies, and so many more.

I love 50's, 60's, 70's and about half of the 80's music (lost touch with it after that while raising my son). RocknRoll and Golden Oldies are my favorite because they bring back the best memories for me and soothe me to the soul, but I like songs from various genres.
Journey (especially when Steve Perry was with them) is my all-time favorite band.
I love most holiday music.
I usually have music on all day long. It moves me, soothes me, and inspires me.
Others I like are:
Doors, Eagles, Boston, ZZTop, Jethro Tull, Grand Funk Railroad, Beatles, Three Dog Night, Fleetwood Mac, Joe Cocker, Beach Boys, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Chicago, Van Morrison, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Moody Blues, Rare Earth, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen...the list goes on and on.

Mostly horror, because I prefer a safe scare to the real thing, but also because I like to be prepared for things, and reading them lets me test my judgement in crisis situations.
Unfortunately, I don't find a lot of time to read much these days.

Being able to trust someone.
Each and every step of motherhood (my only child is now grown).
Falling and being in love.
Sitting by a nice warm fire.
Smiles and laughter.
Camping/fishing/hiking/boating/nature/wildlife, swimming, starry skies, walking in the sand, and lying in the sun.
Watching movies and discussing the various aspects of them.
Music.
Thunderstorms and blizzards (grew up in Buffalo, NY).
Holidays (especially Christmas).
Reading a good scary book.
Office equipment/supplies (wierd, I know, but always wanted to start a biz, which I'm now finally attempting).
Collecting items for my North Pole Christmas village.
Talking to honest people, and to those who can speak straight from the heart.

Lies.

In 1980, I developed Agoraphobia with panic/anxiety attacks, which, once I began to avoid the public situations that set them off (and also realized that I wasn't going to die from the panic/anxiety), subsided into SA. I think these traits were lying dormant long before that, due to various elements in my life, and emerged in a not-so-pleasant grand finaly which sent me into a self-chosen hermitude back in '80.
I've spent the years since trying to understand, first...the factors that caused it, and second...how to overcome it.
Though I've been out of mainstream society for almost 30 years, I am now beginning to re-learn to talk to people again, and to face the bad sides of life (without running away), so I can rejoin it.
I intend to live my life...completely and without constant fear...and will continue to push until I reach that goal.
Until then, I may screw up and say something dumb on occasion in chat or in person when I'm nervous, or too tired from lack of sleep, but bear with me please. I'm worth having as a friend, and would love to know you as we travel this eye-opening, and occasionally scary, journey beyond fear, depression and/or stagnation.

Thanks so much. It seems like a pretty nice community so far. I haven't even figured out how to work the site and people are welcoming me right in!
