Midnights's Children is the best book I've ever read. What a shame, Satanic Verses is still banned here! Maybe you can mail me a copy?
King's The Dark Tower series comes next. I've finished the first 4 so far. I am saving the rest for the next 3 years.
A Suitable Boy is also a fav. I've read only half of the 1000+ page tome, and leaving the rest for the worst of times.
I am currently reading lots of Cormac McCarthy and loving it.
Also like travel writing and popular science books. Popular econ books are the current obsession.
