The vet, part deur
Posted On 07/17/2008 02:45:23 by altrdperception

The vet just called me and told me that they can give Kato some good samaritan drugs ( leftover from other people who didn't use the rest for their pets) and those are free. She also said that she threw away the blood she drew for the heartwarm test that had to be sent out. I didn't know that ! So basically i just paid for their checkups which were 45 bucks per cat just to get in the door plus all other fees which added up to 317.00 This really ######## pisses me off. That is ####### up. The test is about 90 bucks if i want kato to be tested for heartworm and i have to bring him in yet again and i think she is going to try to charge me a bring in fee along with that. Then, if he does have heartworm it is an additional like 90 bucks for Revolution, a flea and heartworm preventer. I wonder if ic an just put him on the med without all the tests and see if it works. If he stops puking i know it works? Or is it dangerous to do that? Ugh this really sucks. Having cats becomes complicated and expensive as they get older. :(

I guess i will take him in again and get the samaritan drugs but the test is so expensive. I thought they at least got that done! That's why i came in ! i shoudl have just gotten kato his heartworm test and never took both in for a checkup. Now i have to wait till next month to get the test done. Hopefully the problem isn't heart worm and it's just a motility issue inthe intestines. I will put him on those good sam meds and see how that works.

Did she throw out the blood by accident or was that part of lowering the bill?  I'm sorry your kitty is sick, and I hope it's not heartworms.  If they charge you a fee to get blood drawn again, you need to throw a fit and say you aren't paying.  They made the mistake, so they just need to deal with the loss.  You might should shop around for a new vet, or keep a look out for clinic days when shots and such are for a lower fee.
