I went to my sister's wedding in shorts & w/out any shoes. U may be wondering wth is up w/ me, but it was in Hawaii & on the beach 
I just got back to CA around 3 hours ago. The trip started on Friday & the plane was delayed by 3 or 4 hrs. For some reason I didn't freak out that much in the airport like I usually do. I just sat in the lobby & focused on reading & tried to block out the rest of the universe lol I got really lucky since I sat by a window & the seat next to me was empty. My mom & aunt were on the same plane but were seated somewhere else. The flight was 5 hrs & felt like it took forever. Once we got to Hawaii (Kauai) we picked up a rental mini-van & drove to the hotel & went to sleep.
The next day when we woke up, we could see the beach from the hotel window. Nice view. We went to have breakfast w/ my sis, bro-in-law & one of my sister's friends. I had a breakfast burrito. Some of the other people had pancakes w/ either coconut or pineapple syrup (they both looked really good), but I didn't eat any cuz I wasn't that hungry. After that I bought an Aloha shirt for the wedding. Also bought a couple pairs of shorts & a couple t-shirts. Then my mom, aunt & I followed the others to the hotel where the wedding was going to be held. It was a really nice hotel right by the beach. After that we met up w/ my bro-in-law's parents & his older brother. It was really awkward & I had my usual negative expression on my face. We were all supposed to go see fireworks that night (4th of July), but his parents & bro were really tired cuz they had taken a couple flights & were up since early morning. My mom & aunt were also tired & decided not to go. I said I'd go, w/ the others, but then I ended up chickening out. I also chickened out of going to eat w/ my mom & aunt, and just said that I was tired & wanted to get some shut-eye.
The next morning my mom & aunt went to pick up some relatives who were coming from Japan to attend the wedding. An aunt & uncle, their daughter & her husband & kid, and another uncle came. When the got to the hotel, instead of going to meet them, I hid in my room as long as possible but they came to visit me LOL OMG what a chicken I am LOL LOL Then after that we drove to the hotel where the wedding was. We got there early & checked out the beach. It was so hard communicating w/ my Japanese relatives cuz my Japanese sucks! lol But I know enough Japanese that I have to talk to them, I can't just be like sorry I don't speak it at all. LOL
For the wedding I walked my sis down the aisle. I liked the Hawaiian style wedding. I liked wearing an aloha shirt, shorts & being barefoot. A Hawaiian minister did the wedding Hawaiian style. It was cool cuz there were a few rainbows during & after the ceremony. Right after the ceremony we took pics. I tried but I'm not sure if I was smiling in any of the pics lol In addition to family members, about 8 or so of my sis' and bro-in-laws friends were there. I knew a couple of my sis' friends already but didn't really talk much to them. Didn't really talk much to her other friends either.
After pics, we went to the hotel restaurant for the reception. I rarely drink, but I was nervous as heck so I started downing beers LOL I hadn't eaten much earlier in the day so I got pretty drunk LOL I really like my bro-in-law & his family. They're really nice people. My sis told me later that when I was drunk I kept calling his parents mom & dad lol I also told my bro-in-law I was an arse & apologized for being a jerk ( I can come off negatively in my non-verbal communication). He was like HUH? What're u talking about LOL LOL But I know I'm not crazy cuz I've had people ask me before if I was angry cuz of my expression. My neutral expression looks p*ssed LOL At least they thought it was funny when I was drunk. lol That beats being all serious lol I'm not sure what all I said to whom. After we got back to our hotel after the reception, I took my mom's laptop to the hotel lobby & got online. I don't even remember doing it, but I blogged while online. lol
I spent until about noon the next day throwing up LOL LOL In a way I was happy cuz I was able to avoid lots of socializing w/ relatives n stuff when they went site-seeing & did other activities. But I also missed out on a lot of cool things & good food. Even after I stopped throwing up I felt kinda nauseous (also socially avoidant LOL) so I stayed in the hotel room & slept. Later in the afternoon I went swimming to the beach w/ relatives tho. It was the first time I've swam in a while. The swimming area was blocked off from waves by rocks so the water there was calmer. I'm out of shape, plus I was tired from all the barfing & only had a cheeseburger to eat that day, so I got tired while swimming, and there were a few times when I started to think I might drown LOL LOL I was thinking OMFG I don't have the energy & I'm gonna drown LOL I'd try lying on my back for a bit to rest, then swim towards shore, then rest again lol I thought about how embarrassing it would be if the others knew what I was thinking. OMG that solo is a wuss! lol
After swimming at the beach, some people swam at the hotel pool again. Then afterwards we went to eat dinner. I was going to have some fresh fish & shrimp, but decided on king crab. What a mistake, the fish & shrimp looked way better. During dinner I sat next to my cousin's husband & talked w/ him a lil. I like him. He's a really cool, nice, laid-back guy. At one point he asked me if I remembered his name. I totally forgot LOL I was like uh uh uh & tried real hard to remember. LOL After dinner we went back to the hotel. I ended up going for a walk w/ my mom & cousin's husband. U can see so many stars in Hawaii. I love it. I was just lying on the sand & looking up at the night sky. Afterwards, I went back to the beach alone to look at the stars again. I think that was the most relaxed I was at Hawaii. The rest of the time I was there I was freaking out. I can't believe I was in paradise & instead of enjoying it, I was freaking out the whole time. Anyways, lying on the beach & watching the stars was nice.
The next day my sis, bro-in-law, his dad & older brother, came by our hotel on their way to go fishing. Everyone at the wedding got a gift to take home, but I was drunk & forgot to get mine, so they came by to give it to me. (I chose a Tiki candle) They also got to say goodbye to the relatives from Japan. After sis & others left to go fishing, mom, aunt & I dropped relatives off at the airport so they could fly to Oahu. Then we had lunch. I had a really good mahi mahi sandwich. We did a little bit of shopping afterwards. OMG my aunt was tired & didn't want to go to the beach or anywhere else so we ended up going to the airport like 5 hrs early! OMFG LOL I tried to just focus on reading while waiting at the airport. The plane ride back went real quick. They showed the movie "Flawless" on the plane. It was ok but not great. I fell asleep right after the movie & woke up when the plane was about to land. They should show movies in the airport too lol Would make time FLY by so much quicker.
An aunt & uncle who went to the Hawaiian island of Oahu are coming to the Bay Area on Thurs morning. My cousin in the Bay Area is going to be taking them around so I'll avoid lots of socializing LOL I still can't believe I was in paradise & ended up just freaking out all the time. It was kind of a psychological blow. I didn't realize I was this messed up lol When my SA gets better I definitely would like to go back to Kauai again. It's the least developed of the main Hawaiian islands. I'd like to check out places the next time around & enjoy my stay there. Aloha
