Dealing with sales people
Posted On 05/18/2008 12:21:42 by TAMPABAY

I had to show my car dealership my other side.

What happened is they scamed me. I just took the car in about a month and a half ago for routine repairs. Now it pretty much died on me.

I yelled at them on the phone and then in person. I was like this didnt just happened. I was there just a short while ago and they are trying to tell me they didnt catch this? Either they are incompaten or are a bunch of liers.

So I dont know what to do. If I trade it in then I might not get a good deal after the  competing car brand find out it need repairs.

If I fix it I ll just be throwing money into a car that keeps on breaking ,Plus; I might be able to put that money into a new car.

So I am now going to have to do one of the things people like us hate the most. CAR SHOPPING! You know the routine they play.

And by the way. I am very picky.

Oh and does anybody know how to drive stick(manual)?

ouch Never go to the dealership. I found that out too by going to my dealership. I sometimes go to a few places. Guess its a good idea to make friends with a mechanic LOL.

Sorry to hear about your car trouble. We have plenty of rogue dealers over here too. Most cars in Ireland are stick Shift. It is considered  very uncool to have an automatic over here.

I've dealt with plenty of mechanics who are scammers. They've told me I needed all these parts (that I didn't need) and it wouldn't fix my vehicle. That has costed me a fortune. My husband traded his car in back in March and got me a van. Those sales guys are like vultures....it's like they see you the second you get there and won't leave you alone! I'm always glad they talk to my husband because even when I say "I'm just looking", they follow us around asking personal questions and making comments....it's SO annoying!

I had a stick shift (Chevy S-10) several years ago. It took a little time to learn how to drive it but once you get the hang of it, it's easy (except on steep hills with cars waiting behind you). That used to make me panic a bit :). Smile

I learned with a stick. Takes a hour or so to get a hang of it.

How about buying the same car again? You know how it behaves and all...

If you ever listen to car talk on npr, they have good car advice, google them, they have car buying guides ;)

I have a old 73 VW, It needs work and i neglect it.  I sorta just want a new car but yeah I hate car shopping.  I've thought about the Smart car, google them, mighta seen them around.  Or a mini cooper

But my absolute favorite car right now is another car made by Smart, but no longer manufactured, the smart roadster
