Ok, so you’re asking "What the hell is a persocom?" Well, if you watch or read the Chobits series, you’d know... but a great deal of you don’t.. so I’ll give a brief description before I start my little piece of writing...
Persocoms - Humanoid robots live and work with humans and perform all sorts of goals and jobs. They’re not sentient though, but they’re very advanced, often enough to almost fool people. But most of the time it comes down to the kind of software you get for them and the kind of training you give them. And just like computers today, they come in all shapes and sizes. Note the picture below... the ears are were all/most outlets are located.
Chobits- a highly advance persocom who can feel emotion and think from free will.
Now that all of that is out of the way (I highly recommend this series by the way), I give you my custom made persocom (well, in written description at least)...
If I had a persocom, he would be a custom made chobit. He would have the appearance of a slender 20 year old male with hazel eyes. He would have long dark hair (can’t decide brown/black yet), smooth and silky. He would wear clothes from the late 90’s... Kikwear and band tshirts would be an example.
His name, I am still uncertain but ’Gibby’ would be a notable choice considering my sentiments to my comic strip character as well as someone I used to know (and still love). He would be programmed with a self learning program and he would have outstanding orginazational skills. He would assist me with cleaning and daily chores and he would be a better auto-mechanic than any crooked human could ever imagine.
He would be caring and kind to children and a great friend to my precious son. His learning software would allow him to learn the trade of his choice and he could work if he so desired. If not, he could watch over my son while I worked. I’d never have a babysitting woe again!
He would be strong; a protector. He would have his very own room if he so desired. He would be lovable and caring and affectionate, but he would show no sexual desire. He would know only innocence. No lust or greed for anything. I would not consider him an object... he would be part of the family. He would live just like a human would.
Ok so that’s all I have so far... yeah I know some of you will say I’m talking as if a robot can replace a human... well, anything is possible in a land of fantasy now isn’t it?
