we had a opossum problem my brother tryed to shoot it but he couldnt aim right because he was in the corner then he was faking like he was dead because thats what they do lol.anyways we got him by boiling some water and throwing it on him that raned him up out of there quick lol he hit the wall and raned into the bycycle and then got up out of there and before it came out we raned a mile up the road it raned into our neighbors yard lol so hes gone  thank GOD lol:-)

kinda cute that it was faking dead - we should all try that when we're scared lol...my brother upset me once by shooting a badger or something with a pellet gun over and over again cuz it wouldn't die.  I started pacing and freaking out counting 25, 26 OMG I screamed, kill it or stop SHOOTING!  The poor critter was stuck in the middle of our circle drive way hiding in morning glories. I didn't feel we HAD to shoot it but it wasn't up for discussion. I felt really mad when it was over finally.

oh yeah florida is definitely the place to see critters of all kinds; especially insects. I think opposums are larger than possums(yes, they're different).  They eat all kinds of things like apples. I'd like to see a possum again. I don't know why, but i think they're adorable. Then again just about any furry mammal is cute to meWink

The poor opossum, there must have been something in your yard that was attracting it.  I've noticed they like cat food, as do skunks.  I've had them come right into the porch to get at it.

You should have shot it !  Possum is a delicacy around these parts LOL  Tastes just like chicken (so I'm told, never tried it myself).

We have opossums all over here. I've never noticed that they cause any problems though, other than being in the middle of the road. It's all the raccoons that are getting into the trash all the time.
