family with SA?
Posted On 12/18/2007 03:51:14 by CaptianObvious

hm... my aunt might have SA.  The other day My dad and brother and I were over at my grandma's having tea.  And my grandma said something to my aunt about groceiry shopping late when there isn't a crowd.... hm... My aunt seemed to get upset by that remake and she left the room on a pretext....  This aunt i've suspected of having SA for some time.  She isn't married, acts very shy and anxious at times, and I heard she used to be on medication for something at one time.

What should I do?  Talk to her about it?  Try and find out more, like what she took meds for?  My family doesn't really encourage going to a psychotrist or taking psych meds.  In fact I guess my grandma made my aunt stop taking the meds, I don't even know what kind.

Oh, and on a side note.  I swear this grandma and a couple of other aunts have bipolar.  They exibit some very strange and eratic behavior.  I think my dad and a couple of his brothers has GAD.  They freak out about the smallest things.

Are you close to this aunt at all?  Do you think she would be embarrassed or relieved to talk about it?  I wouldn't mind, but not everybody with SA feels that way.  It does tend to run in families, though - my dad has it.  Let us know if you talk to her.  :)
