Compliments...
Posted On 08/29/2007 11:34:06 by Jocelyn

I walked into a store yesterday to buy a MegaMillions ticket. The guy working the register was probably around 22 years old. I am 36.

I say: I'd like two MegaMillions tickets.

He just stares at me.

I say in a slightly squeaky voice due to discomfort: Cash option please.

He says: You have AMAZING eyes.

I feel myself turn red but I smiled and said: Wow, thank you.

He says: Anytime. (And gives me a grin.)

Aside from making me uncomfortable, that compliment made me feel so good. I smiled from ear to ear for the next two hours.

My point?

1. Sometimes people are looking at us because they think we are attractive - not because they think we are freaks.

2. Compliments make people feel good. Try giving a compliment to someone today. It'll make you feel good too.

Its interesting how a positive comment like that can improve our outlook on life even if it is just for a little while.

I also have to agree with this guy, from your pictures in your gallery it does look like you have amazing eyes

Very good point. And I'd bet that this is the case more than we all think.
