weekend walks

Yesterday we walked about 3 miles or more. That really wore me out. I came home and slept awhile. Then today we walked about a mile at this other park I hadn't been to in awhile. At first I didn't like the park-it's kind of grown up and the grass is not cut. On the trail it is cemented then there are big woods surrounding it. It's okay long there but they need to cut the grass where people picnic. The creek was nice. Had little ducks and geese and there was a picnic table to stop and rest at.

These walks are really helping me. I notice changes in my depression and I'm not as irritable either. My dog even looks like she's thinning out.

I was a little frustrated when we couldn't find how to get to the parking area. It's a big place and parking is spread out all over. But we did find a place. The only thing that makes me nervous is the bicyclist coming from behind and the dog running out in the middle. I don't particularly care for that. I think they should have trails for bikes only and trails for pedestrians only.

I've been going for walks over the past week and a half and I've been feeling better as well.  It gets those endorphines going, and being outside stimulates the senses.

Exercise is wonderful for defeating depression.

The next key will be to stay cool in the summer! :)

I am glad the outdoors are making a difference in your depression. Come to think of it, I need more sunlight. There are no windows in my work space.
