Does daydreaming about having a fun and active social life count as a hobby? :) Besides that, I like running (I've run quite a few half-marathons, but don't have the courage to try a full one), going to concerts (in the past few months alone I've seen Springsteen twice, Rush twice, Radiohead, the Police, REM and Return to Forever), going to the movies, watching Lakers games (um, does watching TV count as a hobby?), and some other things I can't think of at the moment.

Movies - I love stupid humor, so my three favorite movies are Airplane!, Naked Gun (the first one, not the sequels) and Austin Powers (ditto). Other favs: Godfather I and II, Goodfellas, Clerks, Pulp Fiction, Dumb and Dumber, Top Secret, Silence of the Lambs, the Rocky movies, and many many other ones that I can't think of at the moment.

TV Shows - The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Daily Show, CSI, and lots and lots of sports...

Mostly into rock, with a little jazz thrown in. Favorite bands/artists: Rush (my all-time favorite!), Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, U2, Pearl Jam, REM, Yes, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Miles Davis, Return to Forever, Metallica, King Crimson, Coheed and Cambria, Peter Gabriel, Genesis (except for all those boring pop ballads), Styx, AC/DC, Zeppelin, the Who, the Stones, and many many other bands that I can't think of at the moment.

Catcher in the Rye, 1984, Catch-22, On the Road, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. And of course, I also have to include Howard Stern's two books (I told you I love stupid humor!)

SoCal Meetups

I posted an intro to myself in the Forum, but to add on to that: I live in Irvine, CA, and currently work as a Financial Analyst. I've been suffering from SA/shyness my whole life. It wasn't until I was in high school when I started to feel depressed about my situation. I've tried counseling and anti-depressents/anti-anxiety pills a couple of times, and they seemed to help a little, but not to the point where I started to feel social. I dunno, maybe I quit on the therapy and pills too soon. Just hoping to make some friends here. Hopefully that's not asking for much!

Hi Jenny. Sundays would be kinda tough as well (usually busy in the afternoons, but I'm free at night). But that's alright. Hope you have a big turnout at the picnic!

Alright, hope you have a good weekend

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the add. What's new with you? Did you go to the last Irvine SA meetup?
