Hi. My name is Mark. I didn't think I'd ever sign up for another online social networking site, but I've finally given in yet again. After a recent and successful SAS gathering of many friendly people, more and more am I realizing what untapped SoCal gathering potential is to be had from this SAF community! Holy moly. Beyond this small geographic border, however, I'd also like to connect with anyone out there who possesses a smile, an open mind, and a warm heart. I suppose that can easily mean you, the Reader, as most people usually have some good inside. Yes, you could consider me an optimist, maybe a little bit naive. But I figure that while positive-thinking may not necessarily always help you do anything, it can certainly help you do everything better than negative-thinking can.
If only it were as easy to describe oneself in person, like during an interview, as it is behind the security of an anonymous computer with the handy delete and backspace keys, no? Actually, I still struggle even here, as I'm still yearning to forge some kind of secure identity. But for now, here's what else I can say for certain:

-I'm usually very corny, just like this sentence. It's okay though, because I own my corniness, and I like it. I like corn as well, so it's all good. Cheese and mush work, too.
-I've used those lines so often it's not even funny. Many of you here whom I've met have probably heard them.
-I'm a quirky sentimentalist and helpless romantic with a lyrical soul: the fool who makes the foolish wish. I dream of sunsets, of outreached hands, of a tender embrace. Eyes truly do bespeak of the soul, and I'd like to lose myself under the weight of a lover's gaze.
-I like to cook! and eat! a lot! I go crazy in the kitchen, experimenting with wild ingredients and unique flavor combinations. My favorite stores in the whole wide world are Whole Foods Market, Gelson's, and Trader Joe's.
-I used to weigh nearly 300lb. I'm much more health-conscientious these days, and so I try my best to eat well and exercise. I am looking for an exercise buddy. A couple tennis partners would be great!
-I graduated from UCLA with a degree in physiology. I'm pursuing a career in healthcare and am currently taking a couple community college courses so I can apply to some kind of professional program soon.
-I really like to cook and eat!
