ABOUT ME
I am a 33 years old and live in Dublin City, Ireland. I have coped with Social Phobia and anxiety from about 13. It ruined my teenage years and I dropped out of college as a result. Sought help in my mid 20's as it really had become progressively worse. Nipped it in the bud and managed to get a good part-time job which I'm still in. However socially it can be very difficult in work. I have a really understanding friend and colleague who has made things much easier for me in the job. I find large groups very daunting. I find meeting people on a one to one basis fine or people who know about the SA and accept it. I hate feeling under scrutiny and being somewhere I don't feel comfortable. My husband has been a wonderful support to me.
Didn't mean to ramble on so much about the SA but I guess it plays a big part in my life.
You Are An Introvert!
You're not necessarily anti-social, but you do tend to need a lot of alone time.
You tend to think before you talk, which doesn't make you the loudest person in the room.
While you aren't outgoing, you are a good listener - and you tend to be a loyal friend.
And you enjoy your friends as much as any extrovert does, in smaller doses.
You're more of a conversation over dinner type than a party animal... and so are all your friends.
Your Social Anxiety Level: 64%
You have high social anxiety.
You have a pretty serious social phobia, and it effects your life more than you may realize.
It's possible that you've made yourself comfortable by avoiding situations you dread.
But don't be fooled - you still probably need professional help.
Hi Skylark- sorry I've been away from here for awhile!
"Did you know that during the Great Famine in Ireland 1845-48 the Choctaw Indians heard about all the people starving in Ireland and raised a large sum of money to be sent to help the starving." I knew of course,of the great famine the Irish went thru, but had no idea about the Indians! That's touching..considering their own struggles. I should just write you an email LOL I feel like my posts r too long. Hope your having a great day
I really hope to get to see it someday. My hubby has a picture taken there. He and his mate drove across the bridge.Hope you are having a good week. I am feeling quite anxious as I have to meet a lady tomorrow about organizing an allotment campaign group. Fingers crossed it goes ok.
Hey so how did the meeting go for the allotment campaign?
My week has been pretty much the norm, i go back to uni at the end of the month and getting a bit anixous about it. On one hand i'm so bored now because i got nothing to do all day long but then at the same time i know the first day back everyoen will be catching up abotu what went on during their summer and i feel like i havent got much to say. As usual.
Hello hello :) How's it going? It is a holiday today over here, just taking it easy. Yeah I kinda gave up on the arcade thing, it was getting overly competitive and I was spending too much time in there. I'll probably play now and again - but it wasn't really fun any more.
So what have you been up to? What did you do in Manchester? Did you go get a Ronaldo shirt :P I see Berbatov has agreed a fee with Man City, but will he move there or Utd...hmmm....
I like your pics of travel books...but where is the Hawaii one? :P
