My music taste is broad. I like most genres. I have gone through various international music phases - Flamenco/Spanish guitar being one of my favorites for relaxing or cooking to.

My quietness is often misunderstood, and thus, I am often mis-characterized. I only recently started recognizing my issues as social anxiety. Looking back, I think around 6th grade is when it started to take over. I had a couple of close girl friends in high school, but at 16 I lost touch with them due to a family move and haven't had any since. Serious relationships have never been a problem, because I do well with one close person in my life. Up until now I have preferred my isolation, but I suddenly realized I am now 30 and have not been living my life to the fullest. I have joined this site in hopes of making some much needed friends who can understand my perspective.

My Beloved City of San Diego...

My husband's love of the Lord.

The sarcastic comment, "Shhh, you're talking too much", or any variation of it. It's usually made in jest by some well meaning person trying to break my silence. I, however, have grown tired of hearing it.

Writing is one of my interests. Currently, I am trying to adapt a screenplay idea I had into a novel. I love to travel. I did quite a bit of traveling during the 4 years I worked in the travel industry. I went to Bora Bora a few years back... haven't really left. I try my hand at culinary arts every now and then and I enjoy hiking and photography. I love the outdoors, especially the beach (when no one else is there :)

I thought it was kind of funny when they showed Archuleta back at his school and the girls were going crazy. I kind of get the vibe that he was a bit of a nerd that they could have cared less about before the show. It was also interesting that Cook was originally there to support his brother for an audition. Things happen in strange ways.

Hi, how are you? I'm doing OK. I have one more final exam tomorrow then it'll be over.

I have a large extended family in So Cal. I haven't seen them in 8 years. I visited them in 2000, then came to L.A. again in 2005. I have them as estranged b/c of my parents who are responsible for keeping distance. They assume the family has things to do and they have things to do. The one question that holds me back from visiting them on my own is why they act like that and why they get mad at me if I am desiring to visit them. I also have extended family in WA. It's not normal to act like that. My answer may be that my mom is needy and wants the kids to herself, bending to her will. She's manipulative, vindinctive, and makes things ugly. I think it's an Asian thing also. Trying to control the kids even when they're adults. I'm having SA now b/c I found the phone number to one of the families. I haven't seen the cousin for years. Being estranged is not great for anxiety.

I can't stand to see animals in pain or that have been abused, it actually makes me physically ill. In fact I'm probably more empathatic to animals than people in general, which is probably not a good thing.

What'd you think of American Idol? I'm anticipating Syesha's elimination. :(
