Writing is one of my interests. Currently, I am trying to adapt a screenplay idea I had into a novel. I love to travel. I did quite a bit of traveling during the 4 years I worked in the travel industry. I went to Bora Bora a few years back... haven't really left. I try my hand at culinary arts every now and then and I enjoy hiking and photography. I love the outdoors, especially the beach (when no one else is there :)
MOVIES
I have a Bachelor degree in film, so I have too many favorites to mention and all for various reasons.
MUSIC
My music taste is broad. I like most genres. I have gone through various international music phases - Flamenco/Spanish guitar being one of my favorites for relaxing or cooking to.
BOOKS
New Evidence That Demands a Verdict, The Sacred Romance, Wild at Heart
The sarcastic comment, "Shhh, you're talking too much", or any variation of it. It's usually made in jest by some well meaning person trying to break my silence. I, however, have grown tired of hearing it.
ABOUT ME
My quietness is often misunderstood, and thus, I am often mis-characterized. I only recently started recognizing my issues as social anxiety. Looking back, I think around 6th grade is when it started to take over. I had a couple of close girl friends in high school, but at 16 I lost touch with them due to a family move and haven't had any since. Serious relationships have never been a problem, because I do well with one close person in my life. Up until now I have preferred my isolation, but I suddenly realized I am now 30 and have not been living my life to the fullest. I have joined this site in hopes of making some much needed friends who can understand my perspective.
Travelocity,
Thank you for your comments and your support. I really am glad I have people in my corner who can empathize and sincerely hope that I do well. I'll keep you posted on how its going.
How's it going? I recently posted a blog about an issue I'm dealing with. If you have time could you check it out? Any comments would help. Thanks and have a good weekend
I didn't even eat the Blue Gill, I threw it back. I hope you're having an excellent weekend. Mine's been pretty boring so far, but I'll probably go out to eat with the parents tomorrow so that should be nice.
I totally understand the loudness of the little one. My daughter is always squealing and screeching with excitment at deafening decibles.
I haven't been to too many places outside of the U.S. - just Honduras, Mexico, Tahiti and Bora Bora. Oh, and the 6 hour flight over water to Hawaii made it feel like I was going to another country. I did work for Expedia for 4 years though, so I may still be able to give you some help in the travel department.
Thanks Shan, hopefully I'll be able to afford a vacation soon. With real estate going haywire I've been grounded. But I do have a friend in the Domincan Republic that I'd like to visit. She just moved back from chicago and we could do a half resort half real DR vacation. But in the meantime, I'm enjoying my lil stay-cation rendevous here in the midwest. Talk to ya soon and have a good weekend
