I suppose I discovered I had social anxiety when I was about 34 after I had my daughter. I'd always thought it was introversion and extreme shyness. I'm still learning to see how others view me as I think that would be useful.
I find it difficult to approach new groups and tend to keep away. This is one aspect I'd like to try and change somehow; otherwise life is pretty limiting.
Also the more you don't do things the more you don't want to do something... it's a constant effort required I think.
