Not a hobby but I've recently started reading a couple of web comics:

http://xkcd.com/318/

http://www.questionablecontent.net/

and, http://go-girly.com/

and a new one on the list: http://www.gunnerkrigg.com

The closest thing to a hobby I have now is working on my house.

Red Violin
Garden State
The Lives of Others
Fight Club
Sabrina (the old Bogart/Hepburn one over the new)
To Have and Have Not (Bogart/Bacall)
Wild At Heart
Blade Runner
The Book of Life
Wings of Desire
Inland Empire

Everything except contemporary country.

My taste in music tends to be very eclectic and tends toward the obscure. Electronica like the Chemical Brothers or Orbital is a sometime fave. Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, Wheezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the more pop-like stuff is something I will generally listen to. I also get off on old country rock like CCR at times too. Jazz is good, as is old time country like what was on the "O' Brother Where Art Thou" soundtrack. I like classical too but rarely listen to it.

I do have a new musical find. Nina Nastasia. Check her stuff out. It's worth a listen.

Also, if you play guitar, you absolutely must see this video of Moog's new guitar....

Science fiction is great. I especially like Asimov, Vonnegut, Alfred Bester, Arthur C. Clarke, Joan and Vernor Vinge, and David Brin isn't bad.

In other authors I like Vladamir Nabokov, James Thurber, and John Updike.

Also, if you are into old manuscripts or just interested in the frontiers of historical discovery you might want to check this article out. It's about the Archimedes Palimpsest. It's an old manuscript of Archimedes' works that was scraped clean in the middle ages and overwritten as a Christian prayer book.

It's absolutely hilarious.

And intellectual curiosity.

And even though I don't play guitar - This video turns me on. I want to learn guitar now just to see what I could do with one of these.

People who smoke
The strongly religious

I am the type of person who has favorite radio shows. "To the Best of Our Knowledge" - always interesting and most often thought provoking.
"Speaking of Faith" - same as above and frequently inspiring even though I'm an atheist.
"Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" - very funny, always entertaining.

--------------------------------------
Radio Stations I like:
KWMU - St Louis NPR affiliate
KDHX - St Louis public station - Blues, Funk, Rock, Talk, Bluegrass
WFMU - New York public station - Rock, Experimental, Kitshy-Trashy
KEXP - Seattle public station - Rock
------------------------------------------------

And if you like trivia, try sporcle.com/games. It has lots of different trivia quizzes like Tom Hanks movies, the periodic table, U.S. presidents, pokemon characters, Shakespeare plays, nations by continent, and too many more to mention here.

Someone obviously thinks I'm somewhat messed up. lol.

lol A lil late keith. She's been and gone since friday, but don't worry, there will be more. :) I was a little scurred when they said two tornados were coming towards me, but the news likes to exaggerate. I was in the proximity of two (7 miles away) that could go by me, but didn't. I better get used to it, since it's only just begun. Hope you are well! How are you?
