I'm 17 years old. I attend Walnut Grove Secondary, in Langley (about 45 km east of Vancouver, or 30 miles to you Americans), British Columbia, Canada. I am in Grade 11, and for those who show any interest, my courses are as follows:

I have a mild form of social anxiety. For example, I can validly say "hi" (with subtle hesitation, of course, but not much) to someone walking by on the sidewalk, unless they are my age (no one my age understands proper etiquette these days...), or a pretty girl (swallows hard). I can make eye contact a lot better than I used to as well. Nervousness for me doesn't usually set in until I've actually started talking to someone, then my automatic reaction limits my voice to only one tone (which I find rather irritating, as emotion really does dictate how you get friends). Despite what some might think of me when I start talking, I am not a stoicist and do have emotion. If I'm nervous and can't show it in my voice, I convey it in other means...but ridding myself of that nervousness is the ultimate goal over the next year.

Ok, a little about my family. I have a mom and dad (no joke) who have been divorced since March of 2007. I live with my mom and my brother in a fairly new strata complex in the community of Walnut Grove in Langley. My dad lives in a rancher on a lot in Brookswood (about 10 km south of here). We are building a large shop which will incorporate a hoist so working on cars should be a premium for me. I have one sister who lives between my dad and I in a new strata complex with her new husband and baby boy (and baby girl on the way...). Before moving last March, we lived on a 10 acre Christmas Tree farm...where I grew up since I was six months old, so I really developed a sentimental attachment and moving was a rather emotional and dreadful experience.
