hello. i know what you mean about the russian alphabet, it really is fascinating, and some of the sounds are so beautiful. i've always loved languages, i've studied spanish, russian, french, and german, though not all equally. spanish and russian are probably the ones i know best, but even those are getting rusty these days. i always hoped i would have a job involving languages somehow, but with the anxiety i find i'm even more terrified to speak to someone in a foreign language than i am in english (that fear of making a mistake). it makes me sad, since i love them so much. do you plan to have a career related to russian? where in moscow did you study? i studied in russia for a semester as well (in a smaller provincial city), and then traveled a lot afterwards. russia is the only country i've been to (well, except canada), but it almost feels as though i've been to several, since i saw so many different areas (trans-siberian railroad, lake baikal, areas down near mongolia, black sea, mountains nearish georgia, above the arctic circle, st. petersburg, moscow, etc). i still have an obsession with traveling and want to see so many places. i hope someday i'll have the opportunity to. as for other languages i'm interested in, i would love to learn portuguese. or czech or hungarian. or anything really, i'm always changing my mind. my favorite things to play on the piano are chopin waltzes and scott joplin rags, they're so bouncy and fun. though i'm afraid i'm out of practice with this as well. alright, i hope your evening is going well,

hi, what led to your interest in russia? i'm also interested in anything eastern european. my degree is in russian, though of course i'm too anxious to think of speaking it with anyone, and as a result i'm getting rusty. have you ever been abroad? i used to look at maps and fantasize about travel too. in fact i think my fascination with all things foreign led to my study of languages. what sort of classical piano do you play? anyway, welcome and hello.
