Honesty, a sense of humor, and Shania Twain.

Narcissism, judgmental people, and myself.

All right, so this has been blank for a while and I figure I should add something. My real name's Matthew, and I'm 26 years old from Maryland, USA. Despite being an outgoing child, I started to suffer from Social Anxiety in my early teens. I suppose it was caused by a number of factors, from being teased, to heredity, to losing my childhood friends and lacking the fortitude and know-how to gain new friends. I eventually dropped out of high school and have been unable to get my life back on track since. So here I am, looking for people to relate to, and the motivation to get things moving again.

I have a lot of aspirations, it's just a matter of formulating a plan to go about completing them. I always did well in school, but I feel like a complete failure having dropped out of high school. Though I earned my GED, I can't see myself being satisfied until I earn a degree in college. I'd love to have a steady job and finally gain my independence. It's hard to feel like an adult when I'm still reliant on other people.

I've never been a member of an Anxiety Group before, so this is a new experience for me. I'd love to make some friends and have people to talk with. The days are long and my time is available, so anyone that has the desire can feel free to message me or leave a comment!

hey matt, great to hear from you! Sorry about the yukky rain spoiling the fireworks, but so GLAD you still had a great time...AND a party!! was it all people you knew, so you could relax and enjoy it?
I LOVE the kittens, watching them play etc! I'll have the kittens for you, then you can have them as adult cats..
You really need to be aware of what they're going to get up to, and be one step ahead of them ..Like rearrange the soft furnishings, don't have them in a room with floor length curtains,or piles of dirty washing on the floor(great place to scratch and dig...ahem.:o0 ) etc and maybe keep them in one room for a while so they don't create havoc and lose their litter tray...run up the clean washing line, curtains, xmas tree...etc etc ;;lol!! I've got some great vids of them playing with each other, but no video player anymore....
Need to find a way of getting them onto the comp!!
Will look forward to seeing your photos when you get them on!
Take care, toodleloo for the noo...(hehe...bit of scottish for you there...meaning 'bye for now ) Lx:o)

Hey, sounds like you're staying busy... that's good.

I'm not doing much today. I kinda refused to go to work until after everyone leaves today, I'm just feeling too terrified. So I'll be going in here pretty soon.

I watched a pretty neat show about a guy who had a 'psychogenic fugue'. I think it was called 'Extraordinary People: The Man with No Past' It was pretty neat. This 25-yo guy was riding the train one day, and out of nowhere his memory just erased itself, and he didn't know who he was. He wandered around for four hours, then ended up at the hospital, where he stayed for 3 or 4 days until his family found him. But the neatest thing was that after a while, he still didn't have his memory back, and had to try to put pieces together to figure out who he was. And because of it, he lived every day to the fullest, and didn't take anything for granted. It ended up being a good thing.

Hi there, yes they don't seem to be the smartest i agree but maybe thats the same with most birds.
Don't worry i'm 37 and don't know how to be an adult either, i look younger than i am and i act a lot younger, i don't know if its like a rebellion against not fitting in but on a positive note there is no right or wrong way to act, i think we can do whatever we want however we want, where is the rule book that tells you what a normal person is supposed to be like?
cheers have a good day and enjoy the birds around you.

When we found him a few weeks ago as a stray he had two bad cuts and a bad case of ear mites...since being to the vet and gaining some weight he looks so much better now :)
